The School Nurse Files: Unique Drama. Confusion and astonishment became my initial reaction when watching The School Nurse Files series. I never thought or imagined that South Korea would produce a series that is truly unique and provides a new experience for watching like this.
Synopsis of Drama The School Nurse Files
The School Nurse Files is a fantasy mystery series that tells the story of Ahn Eun-young (Jung Yu-mi), a nurse at a school with the ability to see magical creatures in the form of jelly. The creature sometimes endangers students at school.
He uses his abilities to prevent things that threaten the safety of many people. Ahn Eun-young is helped by Hong In-Pyo (Nam Joo-hyuk), a Chinese teacher who has an aura so strong that he can become Ahn Eun-young’s charger.
Visuals and Sound
The School Nurse Files has visuals and sound effects that are completely different from Korean series in general, from the overall color tone to the jellies that inevitably attract the attention of the audience.
Watching The School Nurse Files is like watching Korean dramas, anime, and playing games at the same time.
Besides being amazed by the visuals and sound effects, the storyline is also not as simple as imagined. Many mysteries are stored in the six episodes of the series.
Weaknesses and strengths
it must be admitted that some scenes in The School Nurse Files may make the audience frown and create a feeling of discomfort.
On the other hand, the beautiful appearance of Jung Yu-mi and Nam Joo-hyuk is a plus for this series. The role in The School Nurse Files completely wiped out the image of the two that was formed from the previous films or dramas.
Ahn Eun-young is 180 degrees different from Kim Ji-young (Kim Ji-young, Born 1982) and Hong In-Pyo who looks very different from Jung Joon-Hyung (Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-Joo) let alone Lee Joon-ha (The Light in Your Eyes).
The chemistry between Jung Yu-mi and Nam Joo-hyuk is also very well built, it can make hearts feel warm even though this is the first time the two are acting together.
Although it seems silly and strange, The School Nurse Files has a lot of messages, equivalent to the mystery stored in it.
One thing that is emphasized is to invite the audience to feel comfortable with themselves, love themselves. All humans have flaws.
This film teaches what you want to hold onto and see in life: focus on your shortcomings and even hate yourself or learn to accept and see opportunities.
This is indeed not easy to do, just like AhnEun-young who took years to accept herself until she was comfortable with everything she had.
Furthermore, this series also criticizes the problem of bullying that often occurs in schools, especially for transfer students or who look different from students in general.
The School Nurse Files is also a real picture of meeting the right people at the right time. Two people who both have flaws can understand, accept, and even complement each other.
