Kalburabastı

Ingredients for Kalburabastı Recipe

125 grams of butter (at room temperature)
1 teacup of oil
1 tablespoon yogurt
1 glass of water Milk
3,5 cups of flour
2 tablespoons semolina
1.5 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 cup walnut inside

For Shuttle:
2 tablespoons powdered pistachios
For sherbet:
2 cups powdered sugar
3 cups of water
1 teaspoon of lemon juice

How to make Kalburabastı Recipe?

To prepare sherbet of Kalburabast; powdered sugar and juice in a deep saucepan. Boil over medium heat for about 20 minutes, until stirring takes a thick syrupy consistency.
Add the lemon juice to the syrup. After boiling for another 2-3 minutes on low heat, remove from the stove and allow to cool to room temperature.
To prepare the dough of the dessert; transfer 125 grams of butter stored at room temperature to a deep mixing bowl.
Add 1 cup of milk, 1 cup of oil, 2 tablespoons of semolina and 1 tablespoon of yogurt and add 3.5 cups of flour gradually to the mixture.
Finally, add 1.5 teaspoons baking powder, knead for 5 minutes and cover with stretch film and leave in refrigerator for 20 minutes.
Tear the walnut-sized pieces from the rested dough and roll the dough into a heart, then roll it round.
After placing 1 teaspoon of walnuts in the middle part of each, wrap them in a roll. Follow the same process one by one until the dough is finished.
Place the baking paper on the baking tray at intervals, with the joint of the desserts on the bottom.
Cook the griddle for 25 minutes in a pre-heated 180 degree oven.
After waiting for the inside to decorate with powdered pistachios, serve, enjoy!
